Hi, we’re Shane and Louise!
Shane hails from a picturesque town on the Pembrokeshire coast, while I come from just outside Manchester. We first met when Shane moved “up north” in our early twenties, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Now, more than 30 years together and 24 years of marriage later, we’re about to embark on a long-awaited adventure around the world.
Travel has always been a passion of mine. Before I met Shane, I studied travel and tourism and even worked overseas for a bit. From the start of our relationship, I shared this love of exploring new places with him. While we’ve taken plenty of holidays over the years, those 1-2 week trips never quite felt like enough. We were always left wanting more, wishing we could dive deeper into the cultures, people, and places we encountered. Going home never felt like the right end to our journeys.
We often talked about taking a long-term adventure, but life always seemed to get in the way, pushing our plans aside. Still, that itch to explore never went away. Eventually, we realised that if we didn’t go for it now, we might never get the chance.
And here we are, 30 years later, at a perfect moment in our lives where everything has come together. It feels like the stars have finally aligned for us, guiding us to take this leap—perhaps it was meant to be, or maybe it’s just our time.
After much research and planning, we’ve sold our home, parted with most of our belongings, and freed ourselves of day-to-day responsibilities. Now, we’re ready to set off on the journey we’ve dreamed of for so long. This isn’t just a trip; it’s a chance to collect memories instead of possessions, and to fill our lives with stories worth telling.
So, that’s a bit about us—let the adventure begin!
